Palais of Justice – Poitiers

Palais of Justice - Poitiers

The Poitiers Palace of Justice (298 magistrates and administrative staff) is housed within the former Jesuit secondary school “Les Feuillants”, which has been converted for judicial use. The project brings together on a single site the Court of Appeal, the Assize Court, the High Court (TGI), the District Court (TI), the Labour Court (Conseil de Prud’hommes) and the Commercial Court.

The scheme is based on two main operations. First, the complete refurbishment of the Feuillants building, which accommodates all administrative and back-office functions. Second, the creation of all courtrooms in a new extension to the listed building.
This public ensemble is developed on a single ground-floor level, ensuring clear and independent circulation flows essential to the security and proper functioning of a courthouse.
