The site at 4 Rue de la Cour des Noues opens along the axis of Rue Leuck Mathieu, offering deep visual perspectives into the rolling urban fabric of Paris’s 20th arrondissement.
The project is based on the conservation of the existing industrial hall, a key witness to the area’s former industrial character. This retained structure is complemented by a reversible extension facing the street, designed as a lightweight and adaptable addition.
The bioclimatic strategy is expressed through a careful selection of materials and construction techniques suited to both the rehabilitation of the hall and the new extension. During summer, the courtyard acts as a cooling void, providing thermal comfort for residents.
Facing the street, integrated acoustic baffles within the bedroom façade system ensure natural, passive cooling, contributing to a frugal and energy-conscious environmental performance.
