MC93

After 35 years of theatrical creation, vibrant cultural activity and a strong presence within the city, the MC93 underwent a comprehensive renovation to support its renewed artistic ambitions. The building’s image was transformed through the complete refurbishment and thermal upgrading of its envelope. Public reception areas were entirely reconfigured, including full accessibility upgrades and the renovation of the 800-seat Efremov Auditorium. The project also introduced a 50-seat studio theatre and a second flexible 280-seat performance space, significantly expanding the range of artistic formats that can be accommodated.
The foyer was enlarged and opened towards the city, incorporating a permanent restaurant and bookshop, reinforcing the venue’s role as a cultural destination and public meeting place.
The production facilities of the MC93 were also strengthened through the creation of a large rehearsal hall and a dedicated costume workshop, confirming the institution’s vocation as a major centre for artistic creation.
