The project combines, within an occupied site, the refurbishment and extension of the local hospital in Rue (Somme department), located in the city centre and adjoining a listed 16th-century chapel. The scheme provides accommodation and care facilities for elderly dependent residents, including residential care capacity and short-stay geriatric care beds distributed across a separate building, complemented by shared facilities located within a ground-floor volume.

The intervention is carried out while maintaining the existing hospital in operation, ensuring continuity of care throughout the works. The architectural approach carefully negotiates the historic context, preserving the relationship with the protected chapel while integrating contemporary healthcare requirements.
